FBS Stadiums by Capacity: The Complete 2026 List
All 134 FBS stadiums with verified capacity in our database, ranked from Michigan Stadium's 107,601 down to Kennesaw State's 10,200, with the SEC averaging 80,854 a building.
This is the full ranking from the capacity field in our verified stadium database. The coverage note matters, so it goes first: the database holds 136 FBS stadiums, and 134 of them carry a capacity figure from the enrichment file. Fresno State and Troy do not, so they are the only two FBS schools missing from the list below. Nothing here is estimated or filled in. Where the file has no number, the school is named and left out, which is how a list stays honest.
The shape of the ranking will not surprise you, but the size of the gaps might. Eight stadiums hold 100,000 or more, all in the SEC or the Big Ten, and 15 hold 80,000 or more. At the other end, 35 stadiums hold fewer than 30,000. The average FBS stadium in the file seats 47,868 and the median is 44,820. Conference averages draw the sport's class line in one stroke: the SEC averages 80,854 seats and the Big Ten 70,872, while CUSA averages 20,428 and the MAC 25,451. The smallest stadium belongs to one of the newest programs, Kennesaw State at 10,200, and five of the ten smallest belong to schools that joined FBS in 2023 or later.

Michigan Stadium at the top and Fifth Third Stadium at the bottom are both FBS homes, separated by 97,401 seats and essentially playing different sports economies. That spread is why capacity is a favorite Gridiron Trivia vein: every number on this list is a fact with a building attached. The list will move as expansions and new builds land. When the database updates, so will this page.
